First of all, I'm obsessed with being unplugged. I don't use a smartphone - rather, a pink Nokia flip with a T9 keypad and no GPS. I recently bought a Kodak digital camera and began collecting physical photographs. If I get dementia when I'm older, at least I'll know I had a life at some point.
I love physical media and I'm looking into getting a CD reader so I can start buying physical copies of albums I love. Even still, I'm not above pirating from big artists - if buying isn't owning, then piracy isn't stealing.
I'm an ESL (English as a second language) teacher and a full time graduate student. I'm writing my MA dissertation on the impact our first language has on how we view gendered language. I speak English and Polish fluently, and I'm learning German, too.
I've been obsessed with the English language and everything connected to it since around 2013, which nowadays is more of an obsession with linguistics as a whole, the psychology of language as well as its histories and etymologies.
I like running, preferably at sunrise, when the city sleeps and I get to breathlessly lip-sync my favorite songs and feel like I'm flying (in reality, I'm very slow). I'm somewhat of a hermit with a small circle of close friends I would die for. I liked avocado before it was cool.
I want to experience all the things and then talk about them. I crave real connections with people who get me, people who dislike modern social media and want to live a life beyond their phone screen.
I want to befriend people who give a fuck, people who think it is that deep, actually, people who care deeply, hungrily, and are not ashamed of it.
I want to love people who love fiercely and let it be known, people who consume media critically and are not afraid to criticize even the things they love most, people who want to grow and better themselves, people who want to have no regrets, people who want to live a life worth remembering.
I want to associate myself with people who care about physical media, who want to own the things they buy, who don't fuck with AI, who want to learn, who are curious, who laugh, who cry, who want to do it all just for the sake of doing it, who want to care and love and give a fuck just because it makes them more human than whatever machines will come after.
I fuck with people who take pictures and don't post them anywhere. I want to meet people who are mortal, and people who only get to die for having lived.
